Episode XVIMMC: The Library Card
Hello my friends, and welcome to this week's edition of "Ben is supergreat". (Bonus points if you can tell me the numerical value of the roman numerals in this week's title) We last left our hero on a spot of interesting luck- having been hit by a car while on his bicycle, and receiving $135 of bicycle repairs (upgrades???) at the cost of being thrown to the street during his morning commute.
We pick up this week as our protagonist ventures to work... by means of public transit. Has our champion found the streets of Ann Arbor too rough? Has being thrown from his valient steed shaken his confidence in the abilities of nearby motorists? No. In 2 words: "Its cold". Yes folks, its chilly outside, and our crusader has taken to his cape, or really, his new topcoat, which he looks simply marvelous in. Do we end our sentances with prepositions? No! Lets rewrite that last sentance properly.
Yes folks, its chilly outside, and our crusader has taken to his cape, or really, his new black topcoat, which he looks simply marvelous in, especially to the ladies.
Much better. We find our ace on the number 13 heading into downtown AA, only to realize that the bus has dropped him off in front of the public library, and that the library is actually open. (Our hero has also taken to sleeping in this week.) So up the steps he ventures, and straight to the counter he goes, obtaining a library card with blazing speed.
The following day, he decides to use his newfound powers for good, checking out CDs by Ani DiFranco, Dido, and Evanescence, a book on Windows XP which he will likely never read- but at least it is off the shelves where it will do little harm to others, and "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" by Al Franken. Having read "Lies and the Lying Liars", SuperBen was interested in diving into another political satire... plus he needed a smallish book with quick chapters that he could read while waiting for the bus each day.

Isn't the public library a great place? I recently rediscovered my love for getting my hands on free cds, dvds and books...sure, mine only for a few weeks, but it's FREE!
